Rhys Spence

Rhys Spence

Analyst

Rhys began working for Sancroft in Autumn, 2016. As an Analyst he operates in a number of areas, with particular expertise in sustainability policy, Government relations and stakeholder engagement. Most of his work is with the food and drink industry- he co-ordinated the creation of the Food & Drink Sector Council, in response to the Government’s Industrial Strategy.

Rhys joined Sancroft from the Parliamentary Office of Nick Hurd MP, Minister of State for Climate Change and Industry.

Having taught and mentored members of London-based gangs and young people permanently excluded from mainstream education, Rhys desired an opportunity to work in corporate social responsibility. A period doing project-work for Finalta gave him a grounding in consultancy.

Rhys holds a BA in Land Economy from Gonville and Caius College, University of Cambridge. He specialised in international development and regional economics, completing a First Class dissertation on the role of ethnic factions and the resource curse in political stability, in Nigeria and Libya.
